HOUSE HRASTOVEC

In Perched on a slope, this single-family house establishes a dialogue between nature and shelter, serving as a meticulously crafted environment for its inhabitants. A deliberate incision has been made into the earth, allowing a concrete volume to rest beneath, firmly anchoring the home within its topography. Architecture here is not just a facade; it unfolds a narrative of views that engages the observer.

The desire for refuge translates into two distinct outdoor spaces. The inner courtyard, shielded from neighbors, functions as a retreat for contemplation, while the forest views invite expansive horizon vistas. Each space possesses its unique character, promoting interaction with the surroundings and fostering a connection to the environment.

The facade appears as an impressionistic painting, an optical illusion that shifts with perspective. From afar, it resembles a conventional house topped with a hipped roof; however, closer inspection reveals layers of depth and texture. Composed of translucent timber elements, the facade acts as a screen, allowing light to penetrate and creating a dynamic interplay of shadow and illumination around the volume of the house.

In this design, every element is curated to provide shelter while welcoming the beauty of the external world, establishing a harmonious relationship that balances protection with openness.
