HOUSE SKAZA - TIC

2024

The recent renovation of House Skaza in Šmarje pri Jelšah aimed to engage with its historical narrative while meeting modern needs. A new floor enhances the space, fostering interaction through large glass doors that invite community engagement, transforming it into a vibrant cultural hub with the Tourist Information Office. Despite modern updates, the past is honored through remarkable paintings depicting historical figures. Mirrors are introduced not only for functionality but also to reflect the artistic heritage, creating a dialogue between history and the present. This architectural choice promotes inclusivity and harmonizes preservation with innovation, ensuring the relevance of House Skaza in the town's identity. Ultimately, the project embodies adaptive reuse, blending modern design with the rich heritage of significant structures.
