architecture
2024
In In the center of the town, where buildings stand in close proximity, this single-family house is conceived with an inward orientation. The design focuses on fostering a sense of privacy while promoting a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces. The layout prioritizes the residents' experience, utilizing cleverly designed covered outdoor areas beneath expansive cantilevers that provide shelter and seclusion. An atrium, featuring a magnolia tree, serves as a serene focal point, inviting natural light while offering a calm refuge from the bustling surroundings. This approach not only shields outdoor spaces from neighboring views but also enhances the overall aesthetic, creating intimate pockets for relaxation and recreation. The interplay of architecture and nature thus redefines the living experience in a compact urban setting, showcasing a harmonious blend of form, function, and privacy.
