JAGER SUPERMARKET HOČE

2022

The In the midst of an industrial landscape—an environment predominantly characterized by imposing edifices and largely undisturbed appearances—emerges a redefined concept of community interaction: a single-story supermarket that challenges the perceived sterility of its surroundings. This architectural endeavor transcends mere construction; it embodies a dialogue with the environment, transposing the passive into a realm of dynamic engagement.

This supermarket serves as a multifaceted canvas, meticulously crafted to convert the incessant activity of daily life into an engaging spectacle visible to all. By embracing transparency in its facade, the design invites the vibrancy of life—families engaged in shopping, friends convening in communal spaces, and the sounds of social interaction—to extend outward. This approach mitigates the isolation fostered by the surrounding industrial corridors, fostering a rich tapestry of communal exchange.

The reflective roof functions as a potent symbol and mechanism, dissolving the barriers between the internal and external realms. It reflects the dynamics below—a synchronized ballet of movement and interaction that ebbs and flows with the flux of light and human activity. This reflection creates a continuous narrative, presenting a living tableau that beckons passersby to engage with a transformative experience.

In this architectural pursuit, our intent surpasses the mere creation of a functional edifice; we endeavor to establish a symbol of interconnectedness, an energetic nucleus amidst the giants of industry. This supermarket emerges not solely as a venue for commerce but as a lighthouse of community engagement—a platform for local narratives to unfold, resonating within the reflections of those who animate its vibrant presence. Through this interplay, architecture evolves from a static form into an essential participant within the cadence of daily existence.
